A true adventure for
those who love unspoilt nature and charming medieval towns.
You will marvel at the wonders of the Plitvice Lakes, 16 lakes
joined by emerald green rivers and countless waterfalls, the
awe-inspiring gorges and untamed wilderness of the Paklenica
National Park and the majestic waterfalls of the river Krka.
This tour also includes the ethereal beauty and original culture
of Pag island with its moonlike landscape and some of the most
breathtaking views anywhere in the Mediterranean from the summit
of the Biokovo mountain range.
Itinerary
Day
1
Arrival in Split. Transfer to accommodation in Zadar - Starigrad
Paklenica.
Day
2 Plitvice Lakes National Park - (UNESCO protection).
Plitvice is a series of 16 turquoise lakes connected by hundreds
of shimmering waterfalls and cascades , decending through the
wooded hills by 134 m. We will enjoy the awe inspiring rumble
of countless waterfalls and rapids, hiking through the emerald
lakes and rivers criss-crossed by wooden walkways and footbridges.
Return in the evening to Starigrad Paklenica. Walking 4 - 5
hr, ascent 100 m, descent 100 m.

3 Velebit-Nature park - the most popular Croatia mountain.
We will take the walking path from Baske Ostarije village to
Ljubicko brdo, Kuk od Karline Plane, Medvjedi kuk, Prpic polje,
Kubus, Debela Koasa, Velebno. Very picturesque area with lot
of peaks piercing the sky, and small flat valleys. Walking 5
h, ascent 422 m, descent 422 m.
Day
4 Island of Pag - 'the island rinsed out by sea water'
and 'the island with a moon landscape', are just some of the
descriptions for this unusual island famed for its intricate
lace and distinctive cheese. We will walk through the dry, stark
karstic landscape which has been rinsed out by sea water over
the centuries and also pass by a saltworks field. Later we will
visit the town of Zadar before returning to Starigrad Paklenica.
Walking 4 h, ascent 160 m, descent 340 m.
Day
5 Walking in the dramatic Paklenica National park. We
will visit the two deep gorges that cut deep into the mountains
from the sea, the Velika Paklenica canyon (the most popular
rock climbing in southern Europe) through Jurline and up to
Borisov dom. Return to Starigrad Paklenica. Walking 6 h, ascent
740 m, descent 740 m.
Day
6 Krka National Park. We visit another karstic phenomenon,
the Krka National Park, with the famous waterfall Skradinski
buk. We hike around the cascades with over 17 natural barriers
formed by the deposits of calcium carbonate that encrust the
roots of mosses and algae. Transfer to the Hotel in Makarska.
Walking 5 - 6 h, ascent 220 m, descent 220 m.
Day
7 Biokovo Mountain Nature park. Transfer by mini bus
to the highest point Sv. Jure (1762 m)offering spectacular views
across the southern Dalmatian islands. Walking downhill through
the karst landscape, through the centuries old forests of the
Black pine of Biokovo (Pinus Nigra Biokovica) continuing down
the Vela (an attractive path, carved in the rock to Makar village.
Walking 5 h, ascent 000, descent 1610 m
Day
8 (if on 8 day tour) Transfer to airport at Split.
Day
8 (if continuing on 10 day tour) Cetina river canyon.
Walking through the villages Kostanje, Smolonje, Dobranje and
Cisla, passing by orchards, wineyards and olive groves, to the
canyon of the Cetina river. Small boats pick us up where we
sailing down the river to the city of Omis. Walking 4 h, ascent
80 m, descent 240 m.
Day
9 Walking to the village of Rascane, on the other side
of Biokovo mountain, through a picturesque region of hinterland
karst, with traditional vineyards. We visit an old wine cellar
to sample the local produce and also visit a traditional Dalmatian
kitchen where delightful cuisine is cooked over an open fireplace.

10 Transfer to airport at Split.

Group Size:
Tour is based on min. of 6 and max of 12 passengers. All tours
and tour extensions require a minimum number of participants
to operate.
